K han Abdul Ghani Khan was one of the finest Pushto poets this century. He was also the eldest son of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan (1890-1989), the Red Shirt leader known affectionately as Badshah Khan and the Frontier Gandhi. Ghani Khan was born in Hashtnagar in 1914. He is widely considered the best pashto language poet of the 20th century and stands on a par with Khushal Khan Khattak and Rehman Baba. He was the son of the Red-Shirt Leader, Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, aka Bacha Khan and The Frontier Gandhi. Ghani Khan was born in Charsada in 1914 to Khan Abdul Ghafar Khan, the prominent leader of the Khudai Khidmatgar Tehreek. Ghani was well-educated, trained at the Rabindranath Tagore’s Shantiniketan Academy in painting and sculpturing. He died in 1996.

He was a son of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan and older brother of Khan Abdul Wali Khan. The late Khan Abdul Ghani Khan (1914-1996) came in to the scenario of Pashto literature with new ideas and novel thinking. Due to this reason he is called Lewany Falsafy "The Mad Philosopher".
